Hull, who started the Hull-Oakes Lumber Mill nearly 70 years ago, used the income the mill generated to donate to various causes around the Willamette Valley and beyond. Such acts were common for the man who worked until he was 84 years old and was the driving force behind the famous, steam-powered mill outside of Monroe.
His generosity has left a lasting legacy. The Foundation donates quarterly to the SBFP.
The Sharing Garden is a unique and viable approach to establishing local food self-reliance and building stronger communities.
The food we grow is shared amongst those who have contributed in some way as well as with others who are in need in our community (through food pantries and other charities.)

The city of Monroe conducted their second annual city-wide food drive & Christmas gifts. They collected nearly 200 pounds of food and presents for 30 families. Thank you!
Vina Moses Center serves the community of Benton County, Oregon. We operate “Vina’s Closet” from the Heritage House here in Monroe.
We help people through times of hardship, engaging the community to build resilience and improve wellbeing. Our location is set up like a thrift store, but everything is free: household goods, clothing, food, and other items donated by the community are available to people who need them most.
